Happy Autumn! I have a lot of news to share with you for the month of October:
- I'll be tabling at Boston Zine Fest on Sunday, October 12th. The fest is from 12-6 at Aeronaut Brewery (14 Tyler Street, Somerville MA). It's a short walk from Union Square, or take the 87 to Loring Street, or take the 83 to Central Street. There is a whole afternoon/evening of zine activities (workshops, readings, etc.) on October 11th, so be sure to check those out.
- Beginning in October I'll be teaching embroidery classes a few times a month at Gather Here in Cambridge. In October there's a stitch sampler class for absolute beginners and a couple of project-based classes, too. These classes are for people 17 and over, and they change from month to month. If you've ever thought that you might like to try embroidery, now's your chance!
- October also brings the 31 Postcards in 31 Days challenge. This was started by zine friends in Chicago, but is open to anyone who would like to participate. The deal is that you send 31 postcards (to people you know, to people you don't know) in the month of October. That's it! This year I might draw all my postcards, but we'll see how that goes. If you'd like to send me a postcard, see my contact page.
- I'm thrilled to announce that a few of my zines are going to be carried by Kitten Breath Distro in Scotland. This distro is run by the most excellent Ann-Marie, who makes cool drawings and takes her distro on location to craft, small press, and other events in Scotland. So if you're in Scotland (or have friends who are), follow the distro's page and look out for my zines in the near future!
